1. I agree with this statement because the goverments job is to protect the citizens and our county. If you are innocent and have nothing to hide, then I don't see swhy it's such a big deal for someone to question you and or to search you. I agree, yes that would be violating your civil rights, but would you rather be safe and protected or would you rather die? If a threat like this were to happen again, I really wouldn't mind them searching my home because I know that I have nothing to hide. Everyone blames the government when all they're trying to do is look out for people.

I agree with you. The governments job is to keep its citizens safe and you're right, if one is innocent and have nothing to hide, then they shouldn't be nervous about being searched or questioned. However, I feel that it's a total violation of civil liberties. I also agree that the government is always blamed for one thing or another. They can never make everyone happy.

One of the best arguments. I definitely agree with you.  The government is blamed for everything even if they're doing the right thing.

I agree with everything you've said. I think people are ignorant for throwing a fit about the goverment going through some of thier information. If you have nothing to hide then its like they are not there at all. The goverment is sapost to be protecting us so they have every right to do what needs to be done.

Wow! great argument, I agree that our governments job is to protect, but I feel as if they have too much power. Think of who could get ahold of that info and how scary it is!:(

I agree with your statement and do believe that the government does its best job to protect its people. If they didn't want us to feel safe, then the Patriot Act would not even exist. However, our rights are not really being violated when you truly think of it, the government has informed us of our rights and we know that our moves are watched. [For instance, I don't believe that our rights were necessarily violated when it came to the New Year's threat because as it appeared, the government did have to follow a certain procedure to get ahold of the information. Now whether that protocol was followed or not, we cannot truly know because it is private. I can understand if people are doubting that the government truly followed each step, but you must also trust that they would not put themselves in danger of angry civillians. An angry country only leads to more trouble.]

I agree with you they should search anyone if the government thinks they are doing something wrong. Who knows maybe it could save a lot of lives if they thought it was true.

I most definately agree with all of your statements. I even said myself that if someone doesnt have anything to hide then there shouldnt be a problem.

I honestly agree with you. If the person does not have anything to hide then there should not be a problem  expecailly if it is involving your safety.
