Searches and Seizures

Just a thought. We need a permit or reasonable suspiscion to be searched. But they at least briefly search everyone at airports. Is getting on a plane really reasonably suspicious? I'm not saying that I personally disagree with the practice, it's just another example of how we give up some of our rights to keep the general public safe.

Excellent point.  Planes do tend to be terrorist targets....and would try to carry these plots out by people who don't fit the profile.

Getting on a plane is a privilege and not a right, so as far as im concerned we have to go through whatever protocol they want to get on a plane.

I agree with Brandon, Ashley you cant use an air plane as an example for rights that citizens just give up. There have been any attacks on planes to make the United States and citizens feel the way they feel. I feel that if citizens want to get on a plane then they have to go through protocol because of what has happened in the past. It is a privilege to fly on a plane.

It was food for thought. We are giving up those rights to use that privelege. What makes any other protocol that can be seen as invasive any different? Just like we give up the rights of privacy to spiders to use the privelege of the phone and internet. Can it not be considered protocol that they monitor that too? And we have to follow it to use it.
