Yes I believe this act is necessary. This act has reduced restrictions in law enforcement. I think everyone can agree it is the federal governments job to protect us from any type of danger. This act should have been put into place a long time ago but i think 9/11 really woke us up and made us realize we could be in any type of danger at any time.
I agree that this act is necessary to prevent future terrorist attacks, however I feel that the government lied in the act and took their actions way to far in terms of surveillence and data mining. The government needs to be more careful about their actions and make sure that they don't cross the line.
I agree that the Patriot Act is good when dealing with rooting out terrorists. They incorporated new laws that are harsh towards those who try to bring harm to our country. But although the act is good, their guidelines are too broad. The Patriot Act doesn't exactly cover what the government can and can't do. I have a problem with the fact that they have no restrictions; they could do anything with data mining that they want to. (With a legit or even reason that seems valid)
I completely agree with you. 9/11 was a huge wake up call; it's sad that it took that long to finally do something, but now that it is done, hoepfully we don't face tragedies like this any more. This world isn't as wonderful as we would like to think it is.
I agree with this act as well, it just makes everything so much easier and a less chance of some kind of attack because we would stop it fast. if we didnt have this who knows what will happen.

I agree with 9/11 being a very big wake up call for our government. It's also good that they made the Patriot act to protect us.
I completley agree with your statement. 9/11 definatly gave the government a wake up call and was reminding them that they need to protect us from situations like that. I think next time a situation like 9/11 occurs, the government will be more prepared.
