1. I agree wit hthe statement, "The USA Patriot Act and other actions that expanded the powers of the executive branch in matters of national security are necessary to protect the citizens of the United States from foreign and domestic threats." Not one true American wants another 9/11 to happen again in our near, or far, future. I for one have no problem giving up some of my rights in order to protect and preserve the United States. the fact that the couple on the frontline episode were making such a big deal about their privacy being invaded boils my blood. so the couple is telling us that they would much rather have there names and hotel rooms kept totaly secret instead of potentally ending up dead? It's not like the government is posting the information on twitter so everyone can see. I completly understand that they're should be some restrictions so the government so it doesn't get too powerful, but in the end the goverement is only looking out for the citizens of this free country. its kinda like using cameras in public places. yes, not every single person does something wrong, but they're there to protect and help out the innocent people in the surroundings. also, its not like the Patriot Act is all about finding out everyones information. the fourth section is all about increasing the consquences for the people that are involved with these issues. In conclusion, the Patriot is necessary to protect the citizens that live in our country. this is one of the many jobs of the government has to offer for us. why not use the extra precautions?
I agree with your statement because for me i would also personally give up some of my rights to keep me safe. Im glad we have the USA patriot act to proect us from another 9/11 to happen.
i agree with your statement because i feel the same way, but then again i dont know how i would feel if it was happing to me.
