"The USA Patriot Act and other actions that expanded the powers of the executive branch in matters of national security are necessary to protect the citizens of the United States from foreign and domestic threats."

I agree with the Patriot Act. I believe that it is for our own benefit, and is protecting us. People are worried about the their personal space being invaded, and that it's a violation of their civil liberties, but the FBI, through the Patriot Act, is not looking for ordinary people. They are looking for strictly terrorists, to catch them, and to keep our country safe. I think it's ridiculous that people get so upset about this, because if they're not terrorists, or suspicious in any way, they shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Just because everyone is basically a "suspect" because they are searching through everything to find anything they can, does not mean that everyone is guilty. It's a good thing, because if they do find terrorists, they could prevent a huge terrorist attack.

I like the point you make about it being for are own benifit, because in the end it really is even if it violates some of are rights.
