"The USA Patriot Act and other actions that expanded the powers of the executive branch in matters of national security are necessary to protect the citizens of the United States from foreign and domestic threats."

I agree with the USA Patriot act. The benifits outweigh the downfalls. Yes they may be accessing info about what you are doing but they are not using it against you in any way. I Have absolutely nothing to hide and would rather had my files and info looked through than be dead, have my family killed or many innocent people die from an act of terrorism. It is their to look for terrorist activity to protect and secure our safety and if my personal info about hotels and ect. has to be violated to possible save lives then so be it. I would rather be alive and someone know about everything i do than dead.

Summary of the Patriot act from moodle. All it is for is terrorist activity. It is not for going into your private property and raiding you stuff. Its just to save lives.

I agree, the Partiot Act wasn't made so the government could look through your things, it was made to protect citizens of the US and I'd rather be alive and having the government looking through my phone records than dead.

I couldn't agree more, the Patriot Act is just looking out for your safety and trying to make sure that if anyhing does happen then the people are aware.

I agree, I would definitely rather my files be invaded, than risk a terrorist attack. Especially when they are strictly looking for terrorist suspicions.

Noone should be scared to have there info looked at, but thats not the point. The fact that they can pretty much just do whatever they want is wrong. The act goes against the rights we're suppose to have and not have violated, and give the government way to much power.

Gives the government power to save peoples lives. Even if they did find something bad other than terrorism and used it against them wouldnt that just be making America a safer place?
