There are points in the Patriot Act that I agree and disagree with.

I disagree that surveillance should be used to watch out for terrorist acts in all public buildings. It's understandable for airports or large businesses, but not for every public building, that's just stepping all over privacy matters.

I do agree with the 4th part of the Act where penalties are increased on those who commit terrorist acts. Terrorism is not something to be taken lightly, so I'm happy that they're really buckling down on those who commit the crime.

Sharing information among government agencies are not acceptable. That information can belong to an innocent person, possibly be leaked out to some other agency and publicized. If a government agency has information to investigate, they should keep it within their borders and not share it. If that was my information being researched I would be furious if they were leisurely sharing it with other agencies.

I agree with that.  I feel that parts of the Act are needed but other parts are not.  I also agree that an agency should keep the information obtained private.
