I feel that the patriot act is a necessary precaution that must be taken in matters of national security. It gives federal agents the necessary tools and actions need to detect terrorist activities as well as anticipate and prevent them. It allows the national government to intercept all lines of communication both foreign and domestic that have the potential to be affiliated with terroists. Overall this act is put in place to protect the life , liberty and pursuit of happiness of the American people from  both foreign and domestic terrorists.

The main issue I have is the pursuit of happiness part. Many people would feel their happiness infringed upon if they were being listened in on. Life, yes. Liberty, yes. But some people feel that having the government know their life is not a good thing.
