I agree with the quote "the USA Patriot Act and other actions that expanded the powers of the executive branch in matters of national security are necessary to protect the citizens of the United States from foreign and domestic threats." because the threat of terrorism over the past few years its most defiantely nessecary that the government intervenes. The Patriot Act was created after 9/11 to strengthen domestic security and broaden the powers for law-enforcement to indentify and stop terrorists. I agree with this because it gives me hope and it makes me feel a little bit better that our country is a little bit safer. Some people might disagree that the government is more into their personal lives like constantly being video-taped and them being able to get any type of records they want like credit card records and spending habits. I on the other hand think that it will make our country even safer and if you arent doing anything illegal then no one should have a problem.
