Patriot Act

I think they were necessary to a certain extent, but there’s a line that can be crossed very easily. The government should be able to go through certain peoples’ information, but only if they are currently suspected of committing acts of terrorism. If a person was suspected before, but is now living a normal life, then they shouldn’t be bothered. Also, of course, they need to figure out a way to make sure innocent citizens don’t get in the middle of all the searching. Therefore, I believe they should be able to monitor our phone calls, but only if they know that we are involved in a terrorism plot. In times of war or extreme rumors, the government should be able to listen in on people they suspect could possibly be involved, but once again, they need to keep innocent citizens out of it.
