Benjamin Franklin's famous quote is apt: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." This sums it up for me. The minute that you allow the government to encroach upon your natural rights, these rights are forfeit. The government has plenty of ways of protecting you without violating your privacy. Citizens must be constantly on guard for their freedoms and fight for them when necessary.

I agree with that and if we continue to let the government take away our rights and let them justify it with saying that its "needed" then they're just going to think of excuses to convice us to let them do whatever they please.
