USA Patriot Act

Even though protecting American citizens is necessary after many terrorist attempts/attacks that have happened in the past decade, a few of the actions the government has taken have gone too far, in my opinion. The Patriot Act made it possible for the government to spy on people, but also protected them from having to give proof that their actions were legal. I may not have anything to hide, but that doesn't mean that I want the government to spy on me at any point. It makes me feel uncomfortable living in my own country. Giving the government the power to spy on whoever, whenever they want is giving too much power to the government, and the more power we give away, the harder it is to hold onto the rights we have now.
