The stimulus bill was put into effect to do many things. It was meant to help lower taxes, make the american economy more green, and help with education and health care. It also was to help many people get jobs and to help the roads.
President Obama and other Democrats would think this was a necessary thing for America. According to them, with out it, we may have sunk into a depression. From The Democrats point, it was a waste of money. there were a lot of stupid things that the gov. gave money for that didn't need it.
I think that there were both good and bad points about the " American Recovery and Investment Act". the fact that 95% of Americans saw tax reductions is good, but the rest of the money that they were giving is still needed. If that makes sense. It also helped many people get jobs in this tough economy with road constructions. Who knows if America would have sunk into a depression if it wasn't for Obama, but he did help in some places.
