U.S. Goes to War Poster
You are to create a timeline/comic strip that show how the U.S. moved from a position of neutrality to becoming one of the waring nations in WWII. The timeline/comic strip should show the progression of increasing U.S. non-military involvment in the form of aid to the allied nations (primarily Great Britain and the U.S.S.R). Also, include in your timeline/comic strip any forms of opposition to U.S. involvement in WWII that came from within the U.S. Your timeline/comic strip should conclude with the attack on Pearl Harbor and the U.S. declaration of war.
Use Chapter 17, Section 4 to find information for your poster. On the front side of your poster, you will draw a picture that represents eacn of the items below. On the back side, you should provide a short written response describing each item. The following items should be included:
- Neutrality Act of 1935
- Neutrality Act of 1936
- Neutrality Act of 1937 (Cash and Carry)
- Beginning of WWII (Germany invades Poland--1939)
- America First Committee
- Lend-Lease Act
- Attack on Pearl Harbor
- U.S. Official Declaration of War
