Title: Pride & Prejudice
Author: Jane Austen
-Born- December 16, 1775
-Died- July 18,1817
Publication Date: January 28, 1813
Setting: Early 19th Century England
Theme: A person is a person, no matter how rich or famous they are. Love isn't something that is bought or auctioned off, it is something that you must deserve and win in order to live a happy and content life.
Plot: So there is this somewhat poor family with a bunch of girls that need to get married. The main character is Elizabeth and when she goes to a dance she meets a Mr. Darcy whom she hates at first, but later realizes he is a good man and falls in love with him. They get married and go to Neverland and live happily ever after.
Characters:
Elizabeth Bennet- Main character/Protagonist. She is different that most girls of that time, fun loving and outgoing. She meets Mr. Darcy at a dance and at first she hates him but over time she falls in love with him.
Mr. Darcy- Main character. He is a quiet and serious man who has an appearance to be a constant 'bringer of bad news'. Over the course of the story we learn that he is very helpful, caring, and kind.
Jane Bennet- Elizabeth's older sister, she says that Jane only expresses her true feelings to her. Jane falls in love with Mr. Bingley and later marries him.'
Mrs. Bennet- The mother of the Bennet daughters. She is getting old and her only idea of fun she can get is to marry off her daughters to good people.
Mr. Bennet- The father of the Bennet daughters. He sides with Elizabeth on not marrying Mr. Collins.
Mr. Bingley- A rather cool guy. He has a radical hair style and is just asking for fun. He is good friends with Darcy and marries Jane.
Charlotte Lucas- She is Elizabeth's best friend. She desperately marries Mr. Collins to get a husband and stop being a burden to her family.
Symbolism- Yeah...remember that blade of grass in scene 13? Yeah, that symbolized the coming of the Vietnam War but the English people overlooked it.
Reaction: It was a good movie, had a good story. I really liked Mr. Bingley's hair...its just really weird and funny. Mr. Darcy was kind of a loser and was rich. And there was this one guy with a really big head that played Mr. Bennet. Overall it was good, but i still think that if one of them had laserbeams for eyes it would have been much better.

Well, I have never told a lie since I chopped down a cherry tree so I must tell you the truth. This movie is pretty much, indeed, a chick flick. But don't get me wrong...it is one of the better chick flicks, and it has Keira Knightly in it so it was good. But just because it is a chick flick shouldn't stop you from watching it, a movie is a movie. And only a real man would watch a chick flick and say they enjoyed it if they really did.
