1.The government national state and local all could have done a better job. None of the governments had a set plan and if they did they didn't get it out to everyone. The national government should have ran simulations of the hurricane to the worst that they thought it could be to be fully prepared for it. The state government should have evacuation plans set so when something like this happens they will be ready. The local government also needs to just have a leader and not a person in charge

2. The national government did not do a good job it took then a couple of days to react in reaction to Hurricane Katrina. The state government also did a bad job when they didn't have an evacuation plan set in place to get people out of the state. The local was unorganized and their mayor really didn't help the situation at all instead of trying to lead them and get help he complained and didn't step up.

3. I think the Federal Government should help more. But they need to do a better job of helping people and not take awhile to send help and supplies.

You're right, National government did take way to long, because they weren't even aware of any of the situations going on till days later.

I totally agree with your opinion on having set plans and 1 leader sounds like a great plan overall i feel like they did make what attempt that they could without the set plans and set plans may not always work so you have to give the government some credit. :P

Doesn't the government make the plans?

yes however they where not expecting such a disaster you cant always predict whats going to happen at this time in this place and its going to be this bad so you cant make plans if you don't know whats going to happen.

The governments had plans, they just didn't implement it. Nagin refused to take the necessary actions. And so did FEMA.
Also, simulations were being run, but they were never completed due to funding.
You're right though, the feds do need to help more.
