Book One was boring!!!!! I lost interest right away. This is gonna be a long summer reading assignment for me L.  But anyways, I like Ivan because he is very smart. Alyosha has a strong religious belief that is very rare to find in today’s world, but it was prob common back in the days. Dmitry lacks responsibility. I don’t consider Fyodor a regular human being due to his actions that is considered child neglect. Both Dmitry and Fyodor must grow up and take some responsibility for their actions. Btw, I hope this book is more interesting than the books from AP Language. Lol.

I actually found the beggining a little interesting. I guess I'm strange. It was very discriptive of the kids, and I want to see what happens.

I kind of like the book also.  I think it will get more interesting as the plot picks up, but I think the background on the kids was necessary in order to understand the character's actions later on.

Yeah, I guess book one was necessary for the rest of the story to develop later on. But if I were to just pick this book up and read for myself I would stop reading because I feel like the story hasn't even started yet. I can't stand to read books that take this long to even start.

That is pretty much the real truth of the matter.

And your comment on Alyosha is blasphemy...I am totally religious too, and probably better looking than him. cool

I totally understand that.
The book doesn't really grasp your interest because it takes so long to get into the actual story.
I'm really hoping that it starts getting interesting, lol.
