As we all know, the 4th of July is the day we celebrate our independence by shooting off fireworks and eating burgers. But seriously, we have a lot of freedoms here that many people take for granted. I feel Dostroevsky would be upset if he was able to see this. I think he would appreciate a lot of the freedoms we have though, like the freedom of speech and press. Being a writer and being thrown in jail, it would strike a chord with Dostoesvky.
