Biology is a required course designed to provide you with an appreciation for and understanding of the various life forms on this planet. You will learn both the detailed structure and function of individual organisms, as well as, their larger roles in the ecosystem. The course will allow you to explore, experiment, and respond to a variety of life science skills through both lecture and hands-on activities. Throughout the semester, you will study the science of biology, energy and nutrients, populations, humans and the biosphere, chemistry related to biology, cell structure and function, energy and the cell, and cell division.
