Big History

This is a college-level essay and a challenge to see what lies ahead for you all in four years. I don't expect you to understand the whole essay, but what I need you to take away from this is the four functions of myth, such as creation stories:

1) To reconcile one to the mystery of the universe (Metaphysics and human curiosity)

2) To render a cosmology for interpreting it (Rise of science and investigations)

3) To reinforce a moral order; and (Rise of law and government)

4) To unveil the human psyche (To exlore the totality of our existence)
