China’s Collectivization
• Look at the class listing of grades. Establish what the class average is.
• How many individuals are 10% or more below the average, how many are 10% above the average, how many are within 10% of the average.
• What do you attribute to each of these groups that caused them to receive their marks?
• The class now has a collective grade in here. In this new way of doing things, how will the behaviors change amongst the three groups? How will they feel about this?
• Now get in a small group and have one person write down all the ideas to how our world would look if we collectivized the following things:
A. School
B. Media
C. Jobs
D. Farms
Discussion question: Why would anyone want to live in such a world? What factors would cause a people to turn communist?
