So this book was a little bit better then the first book, at least there is a plot starting to develop in this one. I feel pretty much the same about the characters. At first I was a little mad that Dmitri was late, but once he arrived and offered his excuse I felt better. Miusov is confusing because he's an atheist but he cares what the monks think of him which seems strange to me. I liked Chapter 4, Madame Khokhlakov was interesting to learn about. Chapter 5 however was BORING! I don't know why they had to discuss the separation of church and state for an entire chapter and a little in to the next chapter. I did however like when the elder said that if anything can reform a criminal, it is though gods law because only then would they really understand what they did. At the luncheon I decided I don't like any of the characters involved with the scene, it was very stupid of them. I really don't like the father still, he acts like a teenage girl. Using gossip he overheard to state as facts to stir up trouble. I'm interested to see what happens with the love triangle and to see if the hint at murder is true.
Sorry this was kinda late, like Megan, I had a busy week.
