I agree with this statement. The USA Patriot Act is necessary to protect U.S. citizens.  It makes it harder for terrorist to plot and plan in secret.  The USA Patriot Act may take away freedoms and privacy but it is only for the safety of the citizens.  Anything the government finds to be suspicious or a foregn or domestic threat the government can surveillance and secretly investigate.  If you arent doing anything suspicious or to threaten U.S. citizens the you should be fine and Happy.

You have some good points, but we are giving up alot of our freedoms for the government to act and try to find a terrorist plan, even if they do find something they hardly ever have enough time to act, and most terrorist are not dumb enough to be found. If the government does find out it could be to late terroriest are willing to die anyways who said they wont just do it if someone is on to them. So although we are giving up enought of our rights to feel more safe, is the USA Patriot Act really helping.

i feel like the government would be taking it a bit too far putting hidden cameras everywhere and tapping phones. Im all for the security of this country but whos to say that all government officials would be using this only against acts of terrorists and not against their own citizens? I think that is taking away too much freedom and privacy.
