Patriot Act

The Patriot act is needed just not to the extent that it is now. As it is now there is no moderation, a police officer only needs to say the word "Terrorist" to have unlimited power. At the same time the conventional process or convicting and arresting everyday criminals isn't going to do the job fast enough against terrorism.

Cops seems to just do whatever they want and then say there was a threat to society or some piece of bologna and they get away with t without having to say the real reason they did it.

Very true. Cops have too much power with anything. You just got to hope that cops will use in the right way and not over use the power.

As long as the patriot act is in effect, it will be abused. Moderation is a very vague word, it's hard to moderate people since every person and situation will be different.
