1.) National- Has to collect, and analyzes critical information to facilitate the overall federal response and recovery operations. Also to bring in to troops for searching for people who never evacuated the city.
State- To provide communications after the disaster hit. Public Works would be the U.S Army Corps. Mass Care Manages and coordinates food, shelter and first-aid for victims provides bulk distribution of relief supplies, operates a system to assist family reunification. Also need to restore power systems and fuel supplies.
Local- has to help evacuate people before the storm actually hits. Another local duty is to provide transportation to evacuate people. To provide firefighters to help victims. Urban Search and Rescue Locates, extricates and provides initial medical treatment to victims trapped in collapsed structures.
2.) The Local Governor reacted by calling for aids because they needed supplies and rescue missions to save the stranded people on the rooftops of the most abandoned cities. The president was holding press conferences about the hurricane rather than sending for help to the disaster. All parts of the government didn’t react fast enough to help.
3. I agree FEMA is a really good thing to have for disasters. But FEMA only helps with major disasters but not local.
