Book One.

Ugh. Could this book take any longer to finish?? The author goes on and on about everything, and it's annoying. He has many run-on sentences and too many commas, and one paragraph lasted, like, a page and a half.

Anyway. Each brother represents a different aspect of mankind; that's obvious. I mean, there's Ivan- the atheist, Alyosha- the Christian, and Dmitri- the, well, I'm not sure what to call him. But I think he's stubborn, greedy, and smart. I like Alyosha- how can anybody not? I mean, his heart is in the right place, he's caring and kind, and, of course, the author speaks so highly of him. I really can't stand Fyodor, though. He's a pig.

An arrogant jerk. A greedy, selfish, misogynistic pervert. And a whole bunch of other nasty adjectives combined in a blender.

But, I'm confused: is the author's name Fyodor as well as the father in the novel or what??

Anyway, I'm bored to tears with this novel so far. It's definitely not my cup of tea.

Is it available on booktape? Maybe that would help me to stay awake while trying to do my summer homework =/

i agree, the bookl took me along time im talking hours because my mind would wander off and i would start thinking about other things but i finaly finshed it and i was very glad to be done.

I guess i don't see the obvious things in books because I didn't see that each brother represented different aspects of man kind and I also didn't notice the corrilation between the names. (lol)

I also agee on the boring and not my cup of tea but im hoping the book will get better as we read more into it because it was getting better twards the end.

Shelby,
You did a very nice job on all of these entries. I would look for the book on tape at amazon or half off.com. If you go to the bookstore, it will be very expensive. you can check with the library as they may have it. It might take longer to get through.
Your comments are insightful and tell me that you are thinking about your subjects.
good work.
I still h ave some students who have not started yet.!!!

couldnt of said it better myself shelby. This book is painfully boring, i think id rather watch paint dry, or stand in a corner. Took me like an hour to read the first book, and im usually a fast reader.

I think that dimitry ((my fav)) would be considered a pagan. He had a hard life, is extremely brave, very rude and impatient.

I don't know. Personally, I liked the book. Still, however, I do agree with you. Mr. Karamazov is indeed a pig. Still, I can only tell you the book gets better.
