In book 12 the Mitya's trial took place. Witnesses were questioned, the defense questioned their credibility, and so on. Ivan decided to tell them that Smerdyakov killed Fyodor, but he started talking about the devil, and he was removed from the stand, then Katya completely ruined Mitya. Then the prosecutor made a long and boring speech. He said that Mitya is without a doubt guilty, and this angered me, because he is innocent. Then the defense made a long boring speech, and said he isn't. Everyone thought Mitya would be aquitted, but, unfortunately, he wasn't. How sad. :(
yeah, i was surprised when katerina did that since she was pretty much in love with him forever. and i thought something cool would happen at the end...like a big explosion or something
