Well allrighty. So Dmitri is innocent, and Smerdyakov is really the person who killed Fyodor. But Smerdyakov is blaming Ivan for part of the murder because he put the ideas in to Smerdyakov's head. I felt bad for Alyosha in this book, it was like he was a little message boy, and stupid crazy Lise! She makes me mad. She calls off their engagement just because she can't respect Alyosha for some reason. I think he's the only man in the book who you actually can respect! Then later Ivan has a hallucination/ dream that he was visited by the devil. When he wakes up he is told by Alyosha that Smerdyakov has hung himself. wohh, what a crazy book.
Lise is supposed to be like Ivan how she doesn't really have faith and can't take anything seriously, I think. There seems to be a bit more to it than her being stupid crazy lol
