In book 9 Mitya has to go through the interrogation of his presumed murder of his father. They assume it was him, and have very good evidence to prove that it was him. I don't think it was. However, throughout the evidence he still denies everything. They say he stole the money, but they can only count 1500 rubles that he had, instead of the 3000 that were stolen. This helps him, but they still think he was lieing. They take him to town to be thrown in jail.
Book 10 is about Kolya, the kid Ilyusha stabbed. In this book Ilyusha has fallen sick and they think he will die. Kolya thinks he's the coolest and smartest thing in the world, and he makes younger kids his protegee. Ilyusha was one of them, but Kolya decided to punish him for hurting a dog, and stop being his friend. Then Koyla decides to forgive him and go to him and visit him like the rest of the boys. He brings his own dog, and makes Ilyusha happy by telling him it was the dog that he hurt. He gets happy. Then the doctor says Ilyusha will die, and everything gets depressing again. end of story. :P
