In book 7 Elder Zosima's body decayed. For some reason this was a big surprise to everyone in the town, and they thought that Zosima was un-holy... -.- WOW!!!! Then Alyosha got all depressed and decided to drink with Rakitin, but instead they went to meet Grushenka. She was supposed to seduce him, but that didn't happen. Instead they discussed matters of doing one good deed, or giving away an onion, and drank a little. Then Grushenka left to go marry her officer. Before she loves she tells Alyosha to tell Mitya "I loved him for an hour" Three days later Alyosha left the monastery as directed.

In book 8 Mitya is trying to get the three thousand rubles to pay back Katerina. He goes to Samsonov who tricks him into going to Chermashnya to meet "The Hound" to sell his rights to property. This is just, as I stated, a trick, and "The Hound" was drunk and didn't care about the property. Then Mitya goes to Mrs. Khokhlakov, and she tells him she is going to give him a bunch of money. She doesn't, and just tells him to go to the gold mines, and puts an icon around his neck. Mitya is mad, as well he should, because she told him that she would give him a lot of money, and meant something totally different. Then Mitya discovers Grushenka is not at her own house, and assumes that she is at his fathers. He climbs the same fence that Reeking Lizaveta climbed and goes to see if she is there. She isn't, and Mitya waits by the window. We don't know what happened there. Then Gregory saw Mitya and attempts to stop him, Mitya hits him with a brass pestle and almost kills him. It is very important that I note here, it was not written in the book here that Mitya was carrying money as this happened. Then he went back to Fenya, and she told him about Grushenka and her loving him "for only an hour". Then He decides to go buy his pistols back and he washes himself and places an order of all kinds of champagne, liquor, candy, cigars and all sorts of stuff at the store, and goes off to Mokroye to see Grushenka. He gets there and spends time with Grushenka, Her officer, his friend, Maximov, and Kalganov. They play cards and such, and Grushenka's officer offends her, and Mitya beats him up, and puts them in a room. Then they have a big party, get drunk, dance, and all sorts of shananigans. Grushenka tells him she loves him. They lay down, then Mitya is charged with the murder of his father Fyodor.
