When it comes to natural disasters the government is suppose to spring into action, and not leave it up to the public. When hurricane Katrina hit, the government was suppose to make things happen, like evacuation plans. people were flooded into their homes and for some it was to late. The state was suppose to make the plans andmake sure the local government was working together. The local was to put food and water in the shelters and they didnt. They didnt even have a valid reason for why they didnt move the buses "We didnt have any drivers." They had poor excuse for every mistake they made, and some couldnt even answer the questions.
FEMA was looked apon for help but they refused. I dont see how someone could look at a disaster like hurricane Katrina and actually think people didnt need help. They began to put new people in charge of FEMA to get hurricane katrina victims help.
Its amazing how the National Guard and the Government can be so powerful and not demand the things they needed. They asked like people wasnt in dire need of food and water. Hurrican Katrina showed how much the sate, national and local government really cared, it actually made me question.
