Local governments role was to organize transportion to evauate the cities get food, water and clothing to the people still in the cities that couldn't get out. Aslo to have mobilzed the national gaurd to help with the reilf effort. Over all I think they should have done things alot better. Buses not mobized and left to be flooded, short notice for evactuation, days without food or water, and the national gaurd was unparapered. Overall grade D.

State governmentsrole was to talk to the federal goverment to get more suppiles, to help with the evactuation, to direct food and water to the people traped in the cities and get additional units to help relieve the national garud. Over all they were unparpered not geting the help that was needed, having miscunmication, and not convaing the want and needs of the state coorectly. Overall grade D-.

Federal governments role was to orangize FEMA and send trops to aid the effort. Send food and water to the states. Make sure there is ample time for evactuation. The government failed miserabley. Head of FEMA lied to the preses three times. Kept saying FEMA couldn't do anything because the demands wern't properly convade. Took six days to get military support to aid the national garud. Just failed miseradly E.

1)         What role did the National, State and Local Governments have in preventing, mitigating and reacting to Hurricane Katrina?

2)         Evaluate how each level of government performed its duties. Be specific and back up your points with facts and logic.

Excellent!!  10/10.
