The local government should have been prepared for all of this, they should have had emergency drills by using the school buses to rescue victims but they did not have this prepard. The state government should have been prepared by keeping an eye on the weather and anouncing an evacuation so at least as many people as possible would leave before the storm. The national government should have been there with the army right after the storm not six days later especially if they saw that the local and state governments were not prepared at all.

i completley agree with this statement, the government in all aspects completley failed New Orleans when it came too Hurricane Katrina, this just goes too show that no one was prepared for anything bad to happen. We need a reality check, we need too be there for our fellow americans when they need us, not a week later when half the population has now died.
