Stimulus Plan

The stimulus plan is viewed as a job bill but it's more than that. It created jobs but also helped avoid depression, helped and aided troubled families, and helped cut taxes for 95% of working Americans. Creating jobs is a short- term goal of the stimulus plan. There are also long- term goals like not use as much oil and fight global warming. Republicans were against the stimulus plan because they thought it would bring us into depression but they were obviously wrong. I think Obama made a good choice by creating the stimulus plan. It did create jobs and it did take us out of going into a depression. There were many questions weather the plan had any effect, but according to this article it obviously did.

1)  Describe the major elements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. (3 pts.)

2)  From President Obama's point of view, how is this act providing positive change?  From the Republican Party's point of view, how does the act provide negative change? (3 pts.)

3) Explain your opinion on the issue.  Be sure to back up your points with logic and fact (from the article or elsewhere.)

Grade: 8/9.  I need a stronger answer about the Republican side (overspending leads to a bleak future....)
