What would you (meaning the political philosopher or figure you are playing) think of the job President Obama and the Congress are doing?  Back up your points with examples from your "history."

From Hobbes view: President Obama would not be doing a good job. He would say that the citizens are getting to much freedom and voice in the government.

Plato:

"President Obama is not doing a good job he makes the laws according to what the "majority" of the people want even if what the majority want is not right. An elite class of educated philosophers should be making the laws not the majority"

Rousseau:  I feel president Obama is not doing a good job.  I believe in giving the people what they want because it eliminates the chances of the general people rebelling against rules that are made which they disagree with.  For example, the building of the community center near Ground Zero.  If the general people do not want it to be built, I don't think it should be built.  The more he does the opposite of what the poeple want, the more the people will rebel.

Niccolo Machiavelli:

Obama is NOT doing a good job.  He shows such weak characteristics like, generosity or kindness.  A ruler needs to be firm, hard, and cruel when need be, not bend to the wishes of his followers.  He will lose favor and power with his people because of his weakness, which many believe he has already begun to do so.  If he would just become stronger in his own merits, he would rise again and maintain his power.  He must lay stronger laws and be sure that everyone follows them to the dot.

Brooke, i completly agree with you, i think Obama could be doing so much better with our country than he is. He seemed a lot stronger when he was running. Maybe the pressure of being the President, is what is causing his weakness.

Plato: No, he does not.  All government is irreversibly corrupt.  It should NOT be in the hands of one man, but a whole group of men who were trained to watch over the community and its best interests.  He does push for freedom to all, to do as they please, which will lead to anarchy.  Everyone has the ability to rule and Democracy is full of people who are power-seeking.  This system is highly corruptible.

Though, I do agree that he is at least trying to keep everyone united considering the Koran burning issue going on.  He is trying to get everyone else to notice that the Christians and the Islams should not fight amoungst each other.  He is trying to keep our country from splitting apart at the seams.

Obama is doing well. He has interfered a little more than he should have by bailing out big companies and with his health care plan but he continues to show very liberal actions and make statements that let the people know that this is a free country and anyone can do what they please as long as they are not endangering others.

He is doing what he can. He came into his presidency and there was an economical disaster going on. It's not magic and things can't happen over night.

Machiavelli - I believe president Obama Is trying to get all the people to like him, or doing things that would get those people to like him. Cruelty, when well used, could be justified.

Plato: Obama Dosen't Fit With This Way Of Living And Thinking, He Would Not Be In The " Higher Up" Class In The Government If I Had The Choice. Since I Can Vote Now, Next Time I Will Have A Choice.

I Don't Like Obama...I Think He Sucks At Life.
