Integration of Baseball (1947) (P. 698)

Who were Branch Rickey and Jackie Robinson?  What baseball team were they associated with?  What strategies did Rickey use to test Robinson to make sure he was up to the task of playing baseball?  In what year did Robinson break the color barrier in baseball?  What two prestigious awards did Robinson win?  In what year was Robinson elected into Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame?
