Students will study the role of mass communication in society, including some history of the press and journalistic ethics and the laws. A comparison of expository writing and journalistic writing will be emphasized. This semester will highlight the writing, reporting, editing and designing skills necessary for print journalism. Students who want to work on the school newspaper or yearbook are encouraged to take this course.
