This course will focus on specific genre studies, including but not limited to; Contemporary Issues, Auto-biography and Memoir, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Non-Fiction, Women’s Literature, and Multi-cultural Literature. The literature will enhance students’ critical thinking and reading skills as well as enhance their vocabulary. The course will also focus on the writing skills necessary for growth as an academic writer. The assignments will allow the students to gain more experience in persuasive, expository, and research papers. Written assignments will also reinforce and enhance students’ vocabulary as well as their grammatical and mechanical skills.
