This course is designed to provide each student with the knowledge, skills, and experiences
necessary for him or her to take an active and responsible role as an American citizen. This
course is an analysis of the form and function of our federal, state, and local governments.
Throughout the course, the rights and responsibilities of citizens are stressed. This one
semester course fulfills the state requirement of Civics.
