This course includes a review of basic math skills that will be applied to real-life math situa-
tions. Math applications will include keeping household and personal records such as shopping
lists, bank accounts, simple budgets, and income tax records. Kitchen and household measure-
ments, unit pricing, comparison shopping, and sale pricing are also included. Money skills are
developed to compute wages, such as payroll deductions, elapsed time concepts in hourly pay
rates, and understanding the abbreviations commonly recorded on paycheck stubs. The opera-
tion and application of the directional compass are emphasized as well. Computers will be uti-
lized in this course
