Concert Choir is a mixed group of students committed to the idea of developing their individual
singing voices. No experience is necessary. While basic vocal skills will be covered, this class
will assume that the student has a year of singing experience at the high school level.
“Everyone can sing!” and “Singing is fun!” are major themes of this class. The focus will be
on gaining vocal skills, working in small groups, and being able to perform as a group. Music
studied for this class will be chosen from many musical styles; traditional choral music, Broadway, and popular ballads.
