This course will study the various financial opportunities available in the free-market system. Conducted in the business computer classroom, students will acquire a working knowledge of the investments options commonly utilized, along with an application opportunity of producing an investment portfolio and participating in an on-line interactive stock trading simulation. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the risk vs. return characteristics for the spectrum of investments options, and the importance of time considerations and defining personal goals. Student learning and evaluation will include individual as well as group studies, activities, and projects.
